Do you even need a real estate agent in Crested Butte in today's modern world?
We previously mentioned that there are three reasons why you still need a real estate agent:
1. Contracts
2. Second job
3. Stress and cooperation.
We'll discuss what I meant by "second job" and why it's something you should consider if you'd like to sell your property on your own.
Second Job
Some of you are probably thinking “hold on, I already have a full-time job, or a second job.” Or you may have a family to take care of or hobbies that you may be passionate about. You may also want to have a personal life beyond all of these things. I get it. Real estate can anywhere from 20 to 200 hours to complete a transaction and that doesn’t even include what I call “aftercare post-transaction” that often many of us agents perform.
Do you feel confident that with everything you have happening in your life that you will represent yourself to the best of your ability and protect your best interest with the right language with the right contracts, meet the dates and deadlines, and of course, make sure you don’t put your earnest funds at risk? Just remember that for you it’s gonna take a little longer because you’re going to have to learn the contracts and make sure that you understand them and learn the best language. You might find that it actually takes an exponential amount of time for you to complete the process than it would take for us.
As you think about jumping in and listing your own home for sale or representing yourself as a buyer, just make sure that you double check with yourself if you have time to have a second job during this process
