Tech and Meditation kind of seem like the opposite ends of the spectrum, doesn’t it?
For me, full, quiet, deliberate meditation is challenging. I find it hard to create that empty quiet space, so I often utilize some type of app to help guide me through the process.
First of all, I have been through a few meditation apps. As of now, the one that is working well for me is called Suyncutition. It works through what they call binaural beats and they guide you through the process, increasing the intensity as you move further through the meditations.
The next part is that for the app to work well, there is a sensory aspect to it. (This is what I love about it. Although completely fair if it is not up your alley as we all have our own style we resonate with.) Initially I thought it would require the over-the-ear headphones to create a fully immersive experience. Turns out, that the next tech item I am loving right now, works great for it.
I recently purchased a pair of AfterShokz headphones. They rest above your ear and translate sound through what the company calls “bone conduction.” This means that they are not resting directly in your ears, so you have a lot of situational awareness when you’re outside recreating. What I love about them is that they create a vibration that adds to my meditational experience.
The image I showed shows the headphone and where they rest on your head as well as how minimalistic they are.
I would love to hear some of your favorite tech or apps that have added value to your life.
Have a lovely Saturday, hope you are all out there enjoying this beautiful weekend.
