We are all familiar with stories. Stories can be fun. They can be educational and help keep the history of a culture or an event alive. Stories help express situations and experiences. But what about the story that we tell ourselves on a daily basis?
Did you know that our thoughts and habits are much like driving a car down the same dirt road. Or skiing the same line in an alpine race course. Over time and with consistent activity, grooves and ruts are created.
Neurologically we do this as well. It’s why it can be so challenging to change a habit or to change a story. We need to make a concerted effort to ensure that we don’t fall back into that neurological groove.
My question for you would be, do your current stories serve you and serve others. Or do they do the opposite? If they don’t serve you, then it may be time to change your story. It’s not easy but I can promise you it is achievable and worth it.
The first step is to determine if your current story serves you. If the answer is no, then it’s time to create a new nuero-pathway.
Join me as we continue to explore this topic. Your only homework for today is to determine if it’s time to change your story.
Thanks for joining me and I can’t wait to see you tomorrow.
